Whenever we are required to do a performance or Exam, the most important thing is to be adequately prepared.
Being prepared does not just mean you can play the works intune and intime, it means you have also rehearsed well with the accompanist and the works have had time to mature and become natural, allowing time for internalization.
Nervousness and pre-performance anxiety will always be present, but nothing will make it worse than being under prepared and having doubts.
Doubts like “I hope I don`t mess up that section”, or “I hope I don`t rush too much” or “i`m not ready” will most likely ruin your performance, but the good news is that they can all be avoided with preparation!!.
